Nu blijkt waar een back-up goed voor is en waarvoor niet. Vandaag was ik bezig met de computer en wat software toen bij het opnieuw opstarten ik niet verder kwam dan een zwart scherm met de tekst "missing hal.dll". Ik had geen idee waar het over ging maar duidelijk was wel dat wat ik ook probeerde de machine starte niet meer op. Dan rest er nog maar een ding en dat is de Windows XP cd in de lade en alles opnieuw formateren en installeren. Een back-up van je actieve C:\ drive heeft dus geen nut want je kan toch niets doen als de machine niet meer opstart.
Wat wel nuttig is gebleken en ik maar ten dele heb gedaan is inlog codes opschrijven van de diverse websites die ik regelmatig bezoek. Hoe Google Browser Sync werkt weet ik niet maar zelfs na inlog zet deze geen gegevens terug in mijn Firefox. Alle email accounts moet ik weer opzoeken en instellen met hun passwords dus dat is de klus voor morgen incl. hetinternet bankieren zodat mijn lief niet hoeft te zoeken. Een back-up van je data en software is wel handig aangezien dat eenstuk sneller installeerd en terug zet en je dat iig niet verliest. http://www.morpurgo.nl/pivot/entry.php?id=1454

BlueCup writes "Dozens of fossils of an ancient loon-like creature that some say is the missing link in bird evolution have been discovered in northwest China. The remains of 40 of the nearly modern amphibious birds, so well-preserved that some even have their feathers, were found in Gansu province, researchers report in Friday's issue of the journal Science. Previously only a single leg of the creature, known as Gansus yumenensis, had been found."
