A lot of news on Bill Gates's stepping back. Mary Jo Foley wonders if Microsoft will still be the same after Gates has left, while also compiling a list of his 10 biggest Microsoft flops. Elsewhere, Bill Gates's successor, Craig Mundie, talks to eWeek. In addition, Cnet features an interview with both Mundie as well as Ray Ozzie: "Bill Gates leaves some pretty big shoes to fill. Think of Ray Ozzie as the left shoe and Craig Mundie as the right one." http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=14917
Alles over Wanted: Small Laptop for School, Must Be Willing to Work!!! | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | Software Headlines :: Index | 2006-06-17 19:47:03
Our youngest daughter recently graduated from high school. Among the graduation gifts her friends received were a wide variety of laptop computers. All shapes, all sizes. Most were given as gifts since they would be going on to college, and the family computer would have to stay home. Our daughter will be getting one, but she wants to wait till closer to school to get the latest and greatest. If you are in the same situation, or know someone who is, PC Magazine has a review of some of the new smaller, ultraportable laptops in their latest edition. There is a wide selection that is reviewed, and with the performance testing they do, should make that purchasing decision a little easier. The way it could easier than this is to have someone else pay for it, but that won't be happening, at least around our house. Alles over Dampier's Role to be Revived Against Shaq, Heat | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | NBA.com: News and Scores | 2006-06-17 19:34:54
Tracey Myers of the Fort Worth STAR-TELEGRAM writes, "Erick Dampier spent a lot of uncharacteristic time on the bench during the series against the Phoenix Suns. The veteran center was the only Mavericks player to play in all 82 games during the regular season, averaging 23.6 minutes. But against the small, speedy Suns, Dampier played 24 minutes in two games. Now, it's the Miami Heat and Shaquille O'Neal in the NBA Finals. And that matchup means Dampier will be a much-needed inside force." http://www.nba.com/news/299436.html?rss=true
Alles over Victory in Finals Can be Bloody Tough | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | NBA.com: News and Scores | 2006-06-17 19:34:53
Mitch Lawrence of the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS writes, "Sometimes you've got to be willing to spill a little blood if you want to win an NBA title. When Jerry Stackhouse drove into a 325-pound barrier named Shaquille O'Neal last night, the moment didn't do anything for the Maverick reserve's face. Blood trickled from the bridge of his nose. But it did symbolize how the Mavs got here and what they'll have to do to make their first trip to the NBA Finals a successful one." http://www.nba.com/news/300128.html?rss=true
Alles over Guy Goma About to Be Deported? | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | haslo.ch Blog | 2006-06-17 16:58:58
a blog entryGuy Goma, the guy that got into the wrong BBC interview (I'm sure you've seen the video), may be about to be deported from the UK.
Others wrote about this a few days back (be sure to check this link, the facial expression analyzation is priceless), and there were no updates on it, so it's somewhat unconfirmed. But that would be a real pity. Do you have any newer information?
By now there's an official fansite, and an online petition for giving Guy Goma the BBC job. And he's auctionning his lucky blue shirt for a good cause, at least he capitalizes a bit on his 15 minutes of fame :) http://feeds.feedburner.com/haslo_en?m=621
