Alles over You Had The Right Stuff, Gus Grissom -- Your Corvette Loved The Way You Turned It On | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | Jalopnik | 2006-06-21 16:10:27
Although his life may have been taken on the launch pad during testing of the Apollo 1 -- Grissom's land rocket lives on. It's a vehicle with a glove-like fit into his lifestyle of adrenalin, danger and speed. It was a 1967 Corvette 427/435, specially modified with a 4:56 rear end to really make it lift off in those 1/4 miles. The car's wandered through owners for the past 30 years -- and now can be yours. Our friends over at CorvetteBlogger dropped us a tip that the 'vette is now up for sale on eBay. So if you're either a Corvette or history buff -- and you've got an extra $180,000 to drop -- you can find out if you've got the "Right Stuff" -- or if you're just "Hangin' Tough."

Alles over Stuffed Animal Rights | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | Attu sees all | 2006-06-20 22:57:53
This web site focuses on the rights of stuffed animals, by providing a forum for discussing the philosophical grounds for stuffed animal rights. The contributors are themselves stuffed animals, and speak from both personal experience and from theoretical postures.
The philosophy of rights has gained prominence in recent decades in both academia and popular culture. Within the human sphere, groups that were formerly marginalised have now become politicised and have advanced arguments why they should be treated on a par with the hegemonic group. In the industrial countries of the West, this hegemonic group has historically comprised wealthy, able-bodied, heterosexual males of white, Anglo-Saxon ethnic origin and Protestant affiliation.
