Alles over BlackBerry versus BlackJack: RIM sues Samsung for trademark infringement | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | Software Headlines :: Index | 2006-12-10 23:08:12
Filed under: CellphonesThoroughly annoyed by Samsungs entry into the smartphone sector with its new BlackJack, RIM (maker of the BlackBerry, of course), has sued Sammie for trademark infringement in US Federal Court in Los Angeles. Oh, RIM, we understand that you want to protect your trademark over the BlackBerry name. But do you really, honestly, believe that just because another smartphone has the name Black in it, that throngs of people will rush out to buy the BlackJack when they meant to buy the BlackBerry? Or is this just a ploy to squeeze some money out of Samsung when you two finally settle this dispute? Yeah, thats what we thought. (Needless to say, Cingular must find this whole thing pretty hilarious.)[Via Textually] Read | Permalink | Email this | CommentsBOLD MOVES: THE FUTURE OF FORD A new documentary series. Alles over Straight forward Blackjack Review! | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | Software Headlines :: Index | 2006-12-07 19:45:51
Ok, so over the past few weeks I have seen a million comparisons and reviews of the new Blackjack from Cingular. Every one of them makes the obvious Q comments. I am here to say one thing.....THE BLACKJACK IS THE BEST OVERALL PHONE I HAVE EVER USED.... PERIOD!!!!!I have had just about every phone I can think of since the old samsung i300 phone right up through the treos, blackberries, 6700's, and so on.I had a lot of fear switching to the Blackjack with my previous smartphone experiences with the mpx220 and the 3125. While they both had upside they were just not a match for the ppc phones on the market. They were just to underpowered and the UI was not fully developed. All of this has changed with the Blackjack. With the UI customizations, the great qwerty keyboard and the pre loaded software the Blackjack has blown me away. Usually within the first two weeks I have identified numerous issues and have developed buyers remourse and started thinking about the next device coming down the pipeline.... Not this time. I have loved every second of it and continue to find more things that I like.Bottom line, if you are a ppc guy who is scared to take the jump, don't be. You will not be dissapointed.Jhat....OUT Source: http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MobilitySite/~3/58212360/straight_for_blackjack_review.php http://www.softwareheadlines.com/modules/planet/view.article.php/72056
Alles over Samsung i607 Blackjack Gets FCC Nod | rss feed | toevoegen | e-mail nieuwsalarm | Gizmodo | 2006-10-04 17:22:36
Here comes the Samsung i607 3G smartphone, which will first be offered by Cingular, and it's out to kick some Motorola Q ass. Affectionately known as the Blackjack, it just got FCC approval, so we can expect to see it on the market before too long. Although it's slightly fatter than the Q (13mm vs 11.5mm for the Motorola Q), that extra 1.5mm won't be noticed. It also has a 320x240 display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel camera and a microSD slot.
This Windows Mobile smartphone is well equipped to smack down the Motorola Q, and since we carry a Q around every day and constantly struggle with its sluggish navigation and short battery life, we're thinking this is going to be easy for Samsung. – Charlie White
