'It is quite thin at just 13.9mm and packs in 3G and Video Calling capabilities as well. The phone is quite stylish and the front fascia is covered by scratch-proof tempered glass. AMD is lining up several low-power variants of its quad-core Phenom and dual-core Athlon CPUs to launch late this quarter or early in the second quarter of 2008. The low-power Phenom 9100e is scheduled for release in February or March this year and will come with a core frequency of 1.8GHz, DDR2 1066 memory controller and TDP of 65W. At the beginning of the second quarter, AMD will phase out the 9100e and launch the 9150e, according to sources at motherboard makers, which offers the same specifications. The differences between the 9100e and 9150e are unclear at this time although most likely is that 9150e is based on the B3 stepping revision. Read full story...

Launched in most of the region in Europe, LG-KS20 is a 3G smartphone powered by Windows Mobile 6.0. It supports HSDPA network, with up to 3.6 Mbps data connection speed. With a 12.8 thickness, the smartphone will not have a keypad design, but comes with a 2.8-inch touch screen. AMD schedules to launch two 2-way Opteron (Barcelona) server processors on September 10 this year, according to sources at server makers. The Opteron 2348 and 2350 will have core frequencies of 1.9GHz and 2.0GHz and will be priced at US$320 and US$390 in 1000-unit tray quantities, respectively. In October, AMD will launch the 2.2GHz Opteron 2354 with 95W TDP and a price of US$610 in 1000-unit tray quantities, however this processor should actually appear in the channel later this month, noted the sources. Take one part Honda S2000, one part classic Opel GT, one part Suzuki Hayabusa and one part orange juice and what do you get? A track-day cocktail we'd consider imbibing fairly often. The folks from Zolfe say their little Orange GT car will launch next week in the UK. Designed for both road and track, the Orange employs a tubular space frame chassis underpinning a composite body. Engine choices include the famed 1.3-liter Hayabusa mill, producing 175 hp and propelling the lightweight GT to 60 mph in a more-than-spry 4.5 seconds. Buyers can also choose from 2.0-liter four (145 hp ) and 3.0-liter V6 (203 hp) Ford engines. The cost for such a purist's tarmac runner will be around £25,000. – Mike Spinelli

Intel plans to launch the third model of its four-core processor in January, continuing its efforts to stay ahead of Advanced Micro Devices on the next-generation processor family. Intel will launch the Core 2 Quad chip for high-end desktop PCs during the CES trade show in Las Vegas the week of Jan. 8, industry sources said. The new chip follows Intel's launch in November of its quad-core Xeon 5300 for servers and Core 2 Extreme QX6700 for gamers.Quad-core chips can handle complex tasks faster than single-core chips by using multithreaded software to break each job into smaller pieces, then computing them simultaneously.
