Omdat u niets te verbergen heeft, heeft de EU besloten dat de politie van afstand op uw brak beveiligde pc mag loeren. Uiteraard is dit omdat uw pc wel eens bomvol zou kunnen staan met kinderporno, handleidingen voor het bouwen van atoombommen, verkaansiekiekjes van Rouvoet die dronken en in zijn blote reet op tafel staat te dansen terwijl hij de lul van balkenende in zijn mond heeft of illegale mp3's van Kane. Dus als u niets te verbergen heeft, heeft u niets te vrezen. Behalve dan wellicht als u foto's van uw eigen kinderen op uw pc heeft staan (want dát kan oom agent niet zien van afstand, of het úw koters zijn of die van de buren), of u wel eens iets opruiends geschreven heeft wat bij de volgende regering plotseling verboden blijkt te zijn. Wat het frappantste aan dit bericht is, is dat men eerst stelt: Het moet mogelijk worden voor de politie om computers op afstand te doorzoeken (iets wat technisch mogelijk zou moeten zijn en dat ook is, dat heet hacken), en vervolgens zegt: Volgens de EU worden bij het verzamelen en delen van de informatie geen bestaande datawetten geschonden. Oh? Is dat zo? Waren er niet laatst wat wetten doorgejast die juist onze privacy moest beschermen? En nu staat er dat er geen bestaande datawetten worden geschonden als de politie in je pornomap zit te loeren? Ergens worden we dus keihard voorgelogen. Kus je privacy maar gedag, die is niets, maar dan ook niets meer waard. So the question arose: how do we, or can we trace documents and find if they are being opened or used somewhere where they weren't intended. We don't want to be restrictive, because at times, we have people all over the place, but if one of our documents were opened in a foreign country, that would arouse suspicions. Most of our documents are made with MS office suite, and I have been thinking of working on a macro to ping a server, but that would require the user to enable the macros, and it would also require the insertion into about 1000 documents.
