Back in March we first heard word of Jabra making a Bluetooth adapter for the iPod. Rubbish, we said! Jabra is too good of a company to waste their time and energy with the silly little iPod. Well I have eaten my words because the A125s iPod adapter is coming, soon.
This Bluetooth adapter can connect wirelessly to any Bluetooth stereo headset or headphones. It provides 10 hours of music streaming and 250 hours of standby time via a rechargeable battery. It will be available in August for $75. Travis Hudson

You don't have to pony up 60 Large for our Gizmodo dream Lexus to indulge yourself in techno-goodness, because now Ford has announced its Connection Series that brings high tech down to earth.
The option-stoked Ford Fiestas and Focuses will have voice-activated control, keyless entry and starting, Bluetooth compatibility and MP3 connections to let you play your tunes through the car's sound system. The company is also adding techno-style trim to give the illusion of something high-tech going on, too.
Pricing for the Fiesta Connection starts at $16,055 and for the Focus Connection will set you back $22,055. – Charlie White

A new Bluetooth system from Mercedes may keep those wacky apocalysts from writing a new "Left Behind" book about Bluetooth phones in hot cars. A new module lets users operate a Bluetooth-compatible phone from a car's multifunction steering wheel, audio system, and central display. The best part is, there's no cradle or docking station -- the system recognizes a phone from wherever it is (jacket, briefcase, geeky belt clip) and links it up with no fuss. No word on whether it'll be available in the US.

Mercedes has announced an accessory that will accompany some of their vehicles and allow for a very convenient way to make calls from the car, hands and wire free. The device sits in the center console and will interact will your cell phone and all parts of the car. The system links up with a cellphone over Bluetooth when the phone is within range and the system will download all information from the SIM card and internal memory. Almost all functions of the cellphone can be controlled using the integrated controls on the steering wheel and central display. It also works with the audio system in the car. It will begin being rolled out in Europe, but the module should be hitting the states in the future. Thanks, Ashley – Travis Hudson

Parrot heeft een nieuw stel draadloze speakers ontwikkeld die werken met zowel WiFi als Bluetooth. Bovendien beschikt de luidsprekerset over een eigen dock voor iPods en iPhones. De Zikmu, zoals de set heet, is ontworpen door Philippe Starck en bestaat uit twee ranke, 75 centimeter hoge speakerzuilen met wijd uitgolvende voet. De designspeakers hebben een vermogen van 100 Watt en maken gebruik van NXT-technologie. Volgens Parrot zorgt deze techniek ervoor dat de speakers altijd 360 graden surroundgeluid opleveren, ‘ongeacht waar de luisteraar zich bevindt’.De speakers zijn compatibel met alle nieuwe iPods en IPhones, aldus de makers. Via Bluetooth en WiFi kan ook draadloos muziek worden afgespeeld vanaf mobiele telefoons en computers. Voor het opvallende design moet overigens wel diep in de buidel worden getast: de Zikmu zal zo’n 1000 euro kosten, wanneer de set deze lente op de markt komt.

Touchscreens op mobiele telefoons laten gsm-gebruikers makkelijker en sneller sms’jes en e-mails typen, maar kunnen nog niet tippen aan het comfort van een echt toetsenbord. MSI heeft een volwaardig toetsenbord gemaakt dat met de meeste touchscreentelefoons werkt én in de broekzak past. Dit toetsenbordje communiceert met smartphones via Bluetooth. Er hoeft dus niet geworsteld te worden met snoeren, die vanzelf in de knoop raken. Wel moet men het toetsenbord voor gebruik even openklappen. Het apparaat is namelijk opvouwbaar en kan op die manier in de broekzak worden meegenomen.Het opvouwbare toetsenbord weegt met zijn 184 gram niet bepaald veel, maar beschikt wel over 65 toetsen. Hij werkt op AA-batterijen en moet zich op een afstand van maximaal zeven meter van de gsm bevinden. Het toetsenbord is alleen te gebruiken op telefoons met een compatibel besturingsstysteem. De ondersteunde besturingssystemen zijn te vinden op Usb.Brando.com. Daar is het toetsenbord tevens te bestellen voor zo’n 42 euro.
